Origami tip tricks
Impress a cute waiter or waitress—or simply add extra oomph to a typical 20 percent tip—by crafting your cash into an origami t-shirt, bow tie, spider, or rosette, as shown at Personal Finance Advice. The tips-turned-trinkets are sure to make any server smile.
I attempted to fold the t-shirt, the bow tie, and the spider; my bow tie and t-shirt look great, but my spider has a couple of bum legs—rolling the bills tight enough takes some practice. For best results, use bills that are nice and crisp, with corners that aren’t already bent (read: if a vending machine wouldn’t take ‘em, hit the ATM and hope for more recently minted money)—your cash creations will not only look better, but they’ll also be easier to fold. And remember: just because your tip looks nice doesn’t mean you can tip less!
