I Sought Andy Warhol
Long ago I decided that if I ever had enough money, I would buy an original Warhol, but that day has not yet come. In the meanwhile I’ve been looking for ways to create my own art in Andy’s style.
The Andy Warhol Museum is a super resource to learn more about Andy and his art — and how to create your own Warholian masterpieces. The museum features an education program on the web. There also is a very neat Flash demonstration where you can create your own pop portrait of Madonna
My favorites lessons are the Pop Portraits and Andy’s Animals. If you can work a photocopier, you can make these low-tech versions.
For those of you with access to the Adobe Creative Suite, here is an excellent tutorial excerpted from the Adobe Photoshop Creative Studio book.
